Qognify has launched its web-based central VMS management platform Umbrella for Ocularis.

Qognify has launched its web-based central VMS management platform Umbrella for Ocularis.

The company announced that Ocularis customers with large or distributed video surveillance installations can now use Umbrella to centrally monitor, remotely manage and configure every VMS installation across their deployment.

According to Qognify, organizations tend to over-spend on technical expertise and licenses as video surveillance projects continue to become larger and more complex. Also, modifying the configuration of multiple sites is time-consuming, and monitoring the health status of all servers and cameras across every location presents challenges. For these reasons, the company decided to make their management and monitoring platform available for Ocularis VMS through Umbrella.

Umbrella is now fully integrated with Ocularis. Users can host the system in the cloud or on-premise. It provides enterprise organizations with a comprehensive view, monitoring the status of every connected camera and server while highlighting those which require attention. Users can configure changes to the video system from a central point through the Umbrella interface. Qognify stated that any changes are immediately deployed where required, either to an individual system or to multiple Ocularis Recorder systems.

According to the company, Umbrella for Ocularis is suited for organizations that require tactical real-time and live visualization for security and surveillance operations such as schools, public safety departments and healthcare organizations.

“Umbrella is a powerful platform that combines perfectly with Ocularis, to provide our customers with the ability to closely monitor and manage their entire video management system, no matter how large or distributed it may be,” said Ari Robinson, Head of Ocularis Product Management at Qognify, in a statement.
